Our Story
SBC Solutions (“SBC”) isn’t just another accounting firm—we are partners in progress, guiding businesses toward financial clarity and strategic success. Established in June 2000 in Tabubil Town, Papua New Guinea, by Tobias Thomas and Dasim Kel, SBC (formerly known as Star Business Consultants) was born out of a vision to empower local startups and ensure financial compliance for businesses operating within the Ok Tedi Mine. From these beginnings, we have expanded across industries, helping organisations navigate complex financial landscapes with precision and confidence.
With deep roots in the mining and extractive sectors, we’ve earned a reputation for independent expertise, reliability, and forward-thinking solutions. Managing Partner

Provides strategic leadership, oversees firm operations, and represents SBC in key partnerships.
Naime is a seasoned professional with over 30 years of experience, including 15 years with PwC before joining SBC in 2003. He became partner in 2010 and has since played a pivotal role in the firm's growth and governance.
He is a Fellow Member of CPA Papua New Guinea, a Commissioner of Oaths, and a Member of the PNG Institute of Directors. Naime also holds a Master’s in Professional Accounting from Divine Word University.
He serves on executive and non-executive boards of several prominent local and multinational entities across Papua New Guinea.
Assurance and Advisory Partner

Leads assurance and advisory services with deep experience across audit, governance, and strategy.
Frank is a Certified Practising Accountant in PNG and is registered with the Accountants Registration Board as both a Public Accountant and Auditor.
He holds a degree in Accounting from the University of Central Queensland, Australia. Frank’s career includes senior roles at PwC and, notably, as Country Managing Partner at EY PNG (2011–2016) before joining SBC as Partner in 2016.
He currently serves on multiple executive and non-executive boards of leading local and multinational organisations in Papua New Guinea.
Principal Advisor

Drives strategic finance, governance, and advisory services with global experience and local impact.
Thaya is the Founder and Principal of TSNL Accounting & Advisory Pty Ltd, an Australian-based firm offering bespoke accounting and advisory services. Through a strategic partnership with SBC, he brings deep cross-border expertise to the team.
A member of CA ANZ, ACCA (UK), CPA PNG, and MAICD, Thaya has held senior finance roles in listed and multinational organisations and spent 15 years with EY.
His focus is on delivering practical, results-driven advice with a strong commitment to quality and client success.
